SBIS CH. WRATHWOOD KAMGAARD KAKABEKA (CANADA) If we had to choose one daughter who reminded us most of her illustrious sire, "Bekka" would probably be the one! Similarly quartered, angled and with that same "float" on the end of the lead she brought back fond memories every time she was shown. Canadian-born, "Bekka" was our stud puppy from the first combination of "BS" to "Ali". She began her career at the NEAA National week-end in 1998 by winning Best Puppy in Show at the Norwegian Elkhound Association of Northern California Specialty under English breeder Brian Nichols ("Barlestone") as well as Best Junior in Sweepstakes under judge Jeff Heim. After some nice puppy wins, she stayed at home while maturing and then quickly finished with 3 majors. Motherhood was next on her agenda and she hasn't let us down here, either! From three litters, she is the dam of 7 Champions with more on the way. The best known of her produce are the Specialty winning sisters, Kameo Appearance and Kan You Hear Me Now who were the only bitches in a quality-packed litter sired by the late SBIS Ch. Sangrud Bauslerke Ice Bjorn. Their litter brother, SBIS Ch. Kamgaard Kotton To Me became a specialty Best in Show winner from the classes! Many might think the chapter would end here, however, "Bekka" THEN thought about having a go as a show girl and amazed us all by her stamina and lasting abilities. From the Veteran Class she has chalked up the following: Best Veteran in Sweepstakes at the Southeastern Michigan Norwegian Elkhound Club Specialty under breeder Janice Sagle ("Fantasy"), Best Veteran in Sweepstakes at the Garden State Norwegian Elkhound Club Specialty under breeder Laura Wonneberger ("LedgeRock"), Best Veteran in Sweepstakes at the Norwegian Elkhound Club of the Potomac Valley Specialty under breeder Nina Gray ("Grayhund"). Stop there? No! BEST OF BREED from the Veterans Class at the Norwegian Elkhound Club of the Potomac Valley Specialty under breeder Kathy Carter ("Norelka") and then BEST OF BREED from the Veterans Class at the Greater Milwaukee Norwegian Elkhound Club Specialty under breeder Eric White. |
