December 25th
In sending out Christmas greetings to our friends around the world, we feature a photo of a treasured gift beautifully handcrafted and presented to us one Christmas many years ago by Joe and Marie Peterson of Windy Cove Elkhound fame. It is a lasting reminder of a long and wonderful friendship as well as a tribute to a master craftsman who passed earlier this month at the grand age of 94. A dear man, we will never forget his kindnesses.
Wishing all a very
MERRY CHRISTMAS

December 16th - 17th
Although our conformation year ended last week-end, not so for the Kamgaard performance dogs! First came the photo below of Ch. Kamgaard Kodak Moment ("Jack") sitting smugly with his rosette for his new Barn Hunt Championship.
Congratulations, Marlene and Jack!!!
Thoughts turned south with two agility hopefuls competing at the AKC Agility Invitational in Orlando, Florida. Making the long drive from Maine was Christine Tilburg with Kamgaard Katch The Wave RAE MXP MJP RN ("Rogue") who qualified in both Time To Beat and Hybrid in their first attempts at the big time!
Congratulations Christine and Rogue!!!
The big star once again, winning her SECOND AKC medallion for #1 Norwegian Elkhound in Agility was
Ch. MACH2 Kamgaard Kovered In Grey MXG MJC OF ("Grey").
What can we say? While we always expect great performances from this duo, the stress of top of the line competition always plays a factor in performances but yet again Cheryl and Grey came through it all as the true Champions that they are. Hats off to you both. We are SO proud to be Grey's breeders and co-owners!
Here is a link to several of her runs in Florida:

Congratulations, Cheryl and Grey!!!

December 9th - 10th
Thoughts turn to the last shows of the year with the Eastern Dog Club events on the calendar and once again the van auto-piloted itself to West Springfield, Massachusetts for the third week-end in a row. Always a fun week-end for both of us with the popular Take The Lead dinner and festivities on Saturday night. We heartily support this organization (www.takethelead.org) for all the wonderful things it has done for members of our dog show family over the years. Please consider joining - it is a very worthwhile cause.
Saturday was the turn of provisional judge Mr. Kris Kelso who found his Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed in our Kestos Yankee Dreamer ("Brecon") to add another point to her collection. Sunday's judge at the supported entry of the Norwegian Elkhound Minuteman Association was Mr. Robert Hutton who also found Brecon to his liking, awarding her with 2 points for Winners Bitch. Unfortunately with all the snow activity this week-end there were many absentees, but we were pleased we made the effort.

December 2nd
Put the van on auto-pilot early this morning as it certainly knows the way to "The Big E" in West Springfield, Massachusetts... seemingly the dog show mecca of the Northeast! A good day as Kamgaard Kleared For Takeoff ("Polo") was Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed under Mrs. Joan Goldstein ("Gold Dust") to finish her Championship from the Bred By Exhibitor class. With this win, she becomes our 172nd
and the seventh for her illustrious dam, SBIS American Grand/Canadian/Bermudian Ch. Kamgaard Kase In Point ("Kasey")! :-)

November 24th - 26th
Thanksgiving week-end started out with two Best of Breed awards for Ch. Kamgaard Kodak Moment BN RN RATM TKN ("Jack") at the Rock Creek Kennel Club shows in Maryland; Friday under Mr. Tom Ward ("Donnybrook") and Saturday under Mr. Dana Cline for owner-handler Marlene Schlichtig.
Saturday in Massachusetts saw our Kestos Yankee Dreamer ("Brecon") go Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed at the Windham County Kennel Club show under Dr. Steve Keating for another 2 points toward her Championship...
... and Sunday was a wonderful day in England for SBIS American Grand/Canadian/UK Ch. Kamgaard Kut Above ("Kobi") who was Best Veteran in Show at the Stockport Canine Society as well as Best Champion in Show for co-owner/handler Stuart Horner.

October 21st - November 18th
A long overdue catch-up post! The week-end following our Garden State specialty wins, we were thrilled to hear of the wins of some special relatives. At the Norwegian Elkhound Association of Minnesota specialty show on Saturday, youngster Sangrud Thorbjorn Bodin was Winners Dog, Best of Winners and SPECIALTY BEST IN SHOW!!! under Norwegian hunter/breeder/judge Bjorn Bjerketvedt! The Sunday specialty show saw "Bode" go Winners Dog again to finish his title under Dr. Camille McArdle DVM but he had to bow to his litter sister Sangrud Thorbjorn Bergit who was Winners Bitch and Best of Winners. These two are sired by Ch. Sangrud Kamgaard Kolbjorn and their double granddam is Ch. Kamgaard Kan You Hear Me Now. Huge congrats to owners Brad and Cindy Wagner, Kristi Wehking and Karen Elvin.
Following that, we were off to Northern Ireland for ten days of rest and relaxation, shopping and playing tourist:
A harrowing trip home due to plane malfunctions had us home a day late and flying out of Shannon in the Republic of Ireland, but the happy greetings from the four-leggers made up for it.
Home a few days and off to work at the Garden State Norwegian Elkhound Club's agility trials, joined by Linda Atcheson and Ch. Kamgaard Kaaterskill ("Rosie"). We got to share in the celebrations for "Grey's" recent MACH2 title, too!:
On the subject of agility, there have been several new Double Q's for Christine Tilburg and Kamgaard Katch The Wave RAE MXP MJP RN ("Rogue") who has received his invitation to the AKC Agility Invitational in Orlando, Florida in December as the #1 PACH Norwegian Elkhound and will be making the trip to the big show along with two other Kamgaards; Ch. MACH2 Kamgaard Kovered In Grey MXG MJC OF ("Grey") in agility and Ch. Kamgaard Kut To The Point ("Gibbs") who received his invitation for being the #9 Owner-Handled Elkhound. Safe travels all and represent our breed well!
A recent email from England was received to let us know that SBIS American Grand/Canadian/UK Ch. Kamgaard Kut Above ("Kobi") won an all-breed Best in Veteran stakes at the Burton-On-Trent Kennel Association's open show on November 12th. CONGRATULATIONS!
...and while on the subject of Veterans, we recently celebrated Kobi and Grey's sire's birthday. TWELVE candles for SBIS American/Canadian Ch. Kamgaard Kover Your Tracks ("Trevor") and going very strong as well as enjoying his cake!
Life is good!

October 18th
Last week we were sent the following clip which we had never seen before from a 2003 magazine of Dogs In Review written by Canadian all-rounder Jim Reynolds mentioning Ch. Kamgaard Kiss-Ka-Dee ("Ally"). Lots of memories here of all those wonderful trips to Bermuda!

October 15th
Well, where to start? We had a most fabulous day at the Garden State Norwegian Elkhound Club's annual specialty show held in conjunction with the Ramapo Kennel Club in Augusta, New Jersey. Judges for the event were Kim Brown of Dagoba Basenjis doing Sweepstakes and longtime Elkhound breeder Dee Queen of Vindarne Norwegian Elkhounds doing the regular and non-regular classes. Following is a list of wonderful wins made by dogs bred by us:
Best in Sweepstakes - Kamgaard Kerfuffle
Best of Opposite Sex to Best Veteran in Sweepstakes - Kamgaard Karisma Jamie Lee

A totally awecome and gratifying week-end for Cheryl Cramer and "Grey" at the American Eskimo Dog Club of America agility trials under judges Linda Wallace Kipp and Joan Meyer. On Saturday, Grey performed flawlessly and earned her SECOND MASTER AGILITY CHAMPION TITLE!!!
so she is now Ch. MACH2 Kamgaard Kovered in Grey MXG MJC OF
... and on Sunday she scored another QQ to start on the next title!
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS and WAY TO GO!!!

October 1st
A new experience today -- two shows in one day! Up at 3:30 a.m. to make the trek to Long Island for the back-to-back shows of the Westbury Kennel Association. The popularity and entries for this show have decreased substantially over the years and thus the committee has resorted to having a double-header. Two new judges who we have never shown to before made for an interesting and successful day for our single entries at both shows.
First up at the morning show was Kamgaard Kleared For Takeoff ("Polo") who scored Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Breed over a Champion to add another two points to her collection under Mr. Red Tatro ("Redglen"). The afternoon show saw Kestos Yankee Dreamer ("Brecon") take Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed for another point under Mr. William deVilleneuve ("Duff De").
A long but rewarding day!

September 9th - 10th
A great week-end with lots of good news coming in from all directions!
First came a report from Marlene Schlichtig in Maryland to say that Ch. Kamgaard Kodak Moment ("Jack") had picked up a new AKC title -- Trick Dog! Knowing that he is definitely "full of tricks" this should have been easy for him! Asking Marlene just how many titles he now holds, she says:
Jack has 17 titles to date.
Conformation: CH (AKC, UKC, Intl IABCCA)
Obedience: BN (AKC), CD (UKC)
Agility: AG1 (UKC)
Rally: RN (AKC), RO1, RO2 (UKC), L1A, L2A (WCRL)
Barn Hunt: RATI, RATN, RATO, RATS, RATM
Trick Dog: TKN (AKC)
He is currently working on his AKC obedience (CD), UKC agility (AG2), Barn Hunt RATCH (7 out of 10 legs),
WCFO Freestyle W-FD Musical Freestyle.
Officially his name reads:
UKC/AKC/Intl.CH Kamgaard Kodak Moment, BN, CD, AGI, RO2, L2-A, RATM, TKN
Whew!
Going off to New Jersey on Saturday at some unGodly hour, we felt our efforts were rewarded with a second major for our Kestos Yankee Dreamer ("Brecon") at the Somerset Hills Kennel Club which was a supported entry of the Garden State Norwegian Elkhound Club:
In addition Cheryl Cramer's Ch. Kamgaard Kryptic Kharacter OA AJX OF ("Rune") was Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed ably handled by Sue Ratz for four more points toward her Grand Championship title. Judge was Sharon Lyons ("Erin").
Once home, messages from Claudia Holst were great for Ch. Kamgaard Kut To The Point ("Gibbs"). At the Kenosha Kennel Club shows in Wisconsin on Saturday, he was Best of Breed under Canadian judge Patricia Lanctot as well as 4th in the Owner-Handler Hound Group under Miss Evalyn Gregory. On Sunday, he scored 3rd in the Owner-Handler Hound Group under Mrs. Lanctot.
Back in New Jersey on Sunday, Ch. Kamgaard Kryptic Kharacter OA AJX OF ("Rune") was Best of Breed at the 101st show of the prestigious Westchester Kennel Club under Northern breeds specialist Mrs. Barbara Bruns of Germany
("Sammantic").
And finally on Sunday night came a message from a very excited Christine Tilburg of Maine to say that Kamgaard Katch The Wave RAE MXP MJP RN ("Rogue") had his very first "perfect week-end" earning his 14th and 15th sets of QQ's toward his PACH title.

August 3rd - 18th
A couple of weeks worth of catch-up today...
Leaving the evening of August 3rd, Maggie traveled to the United Kingdom having been honored with an invitation several years prior to judge Norwegian Elkhounds at the Hound Association Championship show on Saturday, August 5th. Having always heard what a fantastic show this is, what better way to experience it for the first time than to judge forty of your chosen breed at a show with a most welcoming atmosphere, a panel of international judges and exhibitors who accept all of your placements with grace?
Best of Breed (and new UK Champion) Grasilva Gee's Quest
Quite happy with my Best of Breed, Puppy and Veteran winners, they all represented our breed well in the big group ring.
A video of the judging can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6pgcgXpQdM
The following day I presented a breed-specific seminar to members of the Norwegian Elkhound Club of Great Britain which lasted from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. It was very well received, generated many questions and discussions -- i.e. a learning experience for all. My thanks to the individuals who made this all happen and for the lovely gifts given to me for sharing my time and knowledge.
While away for almost two weeks, all news received was not always what we hope to hear. From Susan and John Franzis came the news that their dear "Chip" (Kamgaard Knock On Wood) crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in his thirteenth year.
A more loving home you could never find for one of your puppies and we thank Susan and John for giving Chip such a wonderful life.
Rest in Peace, black-eyed boy ... you were VERY loved.
Some very nice wins to report over the last few weeks are:
8/5 - at the Norwegian Elkhound Club of Greater Cleveland specialty show in Ohio, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed and Best of Breed Owner Handler went to Ch. Kamgaard Kalistadora ("Dora") under breed judge Bill Shelton ("Coventry") as well as Best of Opposite Sex to Best Veteran in Sweepstakes to Kamgaard Karisma Jamie Lee ("Jamie") under judge Keith Olson ("Silhouette"). Both are owned and handled by Mary Jo Benedetti.
8/12 - Another Best of Breed for Ch. Kamgaard Kut To The Point ("Gibbs") at the Cudahy Kennel Club show under Mr. Grant Winchell. Owner-handler Claudia Holst.
8/18 - A Reserve Challenge Certificate for SBIS American Grand/Canadian/UK Ch. Kamgaard Kut Above ("Kobi") at the Welsh Kennel Club Championship show under judge Zena Thorn-Andrews ("Drakesleat")
CONGRATULATIONS, ALL !!!

July 29th
Some good news recently received on three "Kobi kids" in various parts of the U.S...
Christine Tilburg of Maine wrote to tell us that Kamgaard Katch The Wave RAE MXP MJP RN ("Rogue") has been invited to the American Kennel Club agility invitational as the #1 preferred Norwegian Elkhound. He also recently won his thirteenth QQ toward his PACH title.
Marlene Schlichtig from Maryland tells us that Ch. Kamgaard Kodak Moment ("Jack") in addition to his many UKC titles now has his International Championship and his WCRL Rally Level 2 (WL2) titles in addition to working on his Barn Hunt Championship.
A happy call from Toni Sibrel of Illinois came today telling us of a third major for Kamgaard Kall Me Incredible RA ("Violet") at the Waukesha Kennel Club show in Wisconsin under judge Joan Goldstein ("Gold Dust")! Violet is closing in on her Championship and the finish line is in sight!
CONGRATULATIONS ALL
TO SOME VERY VERSATILE KAMGAARDS AND THEIR OWNERS!!!

July 17th
A sad day here as we helped our much loved "Kool Max" over the Rainbow Bridge. Nearly 14 years of age, she was our perennial "flower child" ... never had an enemy in the world, loved everyone both two and four-legged. She was a seeker of peace and harmony and was always thrilled to greet new visitors.
Ch. Kamgaard Klearly Grey
Rest in Peace dear "Kool Max" -- EVERYone here is missing you...

July 15th-16th
A hot week-end in Salisbury, Maryland at the Blue Heron Agility Association of Delaware trial for Cheryl Cramer and her "Kamgaard Kids" as she calls them. Ch. MACH Kamgaard Kovered in Grey MXS MJS OF ("Grey"-pictured left) picked up four Q's - one QQ and an additional two JWW Q's all with placements. Grey's buddy "Rune" pictured right earned her Excellent Jumpers title with a first place so she is now Ch. Kamgaard Kryptic Kharacter OA AXJ OF. Judge was Greg Fontaine.
Another nice win for our Kestos Yankee Dreamer ("Brecon") came on Sunday at the Twin Brooks Kennel Club show in Morristown, New Jersey under Mr. Raymond Filburn where she was Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed for

Mid-June through July 12th
A little bit of catch-up today. Summer is here and things have been busy! A nice but uncontested Best of Breed for GCh. Kamgaard Kintyre ("Marnie") at the Shawangunk Kennel Club show on June 23rd under Mrs. Cecilia Martinez from Puerto Rico. A warm and muggy day but Marnie showed her socks off in the group ring.
July 1st brought Canada Day above the border and of course a photo of Marnie's litter brother Kamgaard Northern Silver Spirit ("Koda") celebrating at his summer cottage on the lakes in Ontario. Happy boy!
Meanwhile, same day, older brother Ch. Kamgaard Kut To The Point ("Gibbs") socred an Award of Merit at the Northeastern Illinois Norwegian Elkhound Association specialty show under Mr. Richard Miller. CONGRATULATIONS to owner-handlers Claudia and Dan Holst!
|
June 15th
A happy surprise today to receive from co-owner/handler Stuart Horner both the third Challenge Certificate and UK Championship certificate for
SBIS American Grand/Canadian/UK Ch. Kamgaard Kut Above ("Kobi")
Many, many thanks Stuart and family!

June 10th
A very early rise for 8:30 a.m. breed judging at the Greenwich Kennel Club show in Connecticut. Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed once again went to Kestos Yankee Dreamer ("Brecon") under Canadian judge Darle Heck. Early afternoon judging found young Kamgaard Kerfuffle ("Suri") winning the 4-6 month Puppy Hound Group under Lisa Peterson ("Elvemel"). First time in the ring and she had a blast! Happy to head home after a long and 90+ degree hot day to the cool of the mountains.
Once home, we learned of the death of longtime friend Steve Gladstone while he was on a judging assignment in Australia. Steve and his first wife Marieann originally had Elkhounds in the early 70's prior to founding their Aragorn Kennel of Cardigan Welsh Corgis which produced over 100 Champions for them. Steve was one of the "good guys" who was never afraid to speak his mind -- something not always popular in his position on the American Kennel Club Board of Directors. After Marieann's sudden death in 2010, Steve married Jan Ritchie in 2015 and a happier couple would be hard to find. Condolences to Jan and Rest In Peace, Steve with thanks for all you have done to promote dogs worldwide.

May 21st
A FIRST for our "Welsh wonder" import Kestos Yankee Dreamer ("Brecon" - pictured above) gaining her initial points today at the Long Island Kennel Club show. Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite Sex for two points under breeder-judge Lisa Peterson ("Elvemel") has gotten her started on her way.
and a SECOND group placement for Ch. Kamgaard Kut To The Point ("Gibbs") today -- this time a GR4 at the Oshkosh Kennel Club show in Wisconsin under judge Elizabeth Muthard. CONGRATULATIONS to owner-handler Claudia Holst once again!

May 16th
Some very nice news on this lovely spring morning. Have just read judge Anne Macdonald's critique from the recent Norwegian Elkhound Club of Great Britain's Championship show and very pleased with her overall evaluation of "Kobi":
Special Veteran Dogs (7-10 years) (2) 1. Am Gr Ch/Can Ch Kamgaard Kut Above (Imp USA). "Really liked this dog for size, proportions, soundness and coat colour. Has a good head and ears, good front with correct length of leg to body height. Well laid shoulders and good length of neck under a profuse ruff. Has a strong level topline well held both standing and on the move and an excellent tail. Moved truly out and back and extended his stride easily in profile. CC, his third I was told."

May 6th - 7th
Another excellent week-end on tap starting with our favorite show of the year, the Bucks County Kennel Club show which was once again a supported entry of the Garden State Norwegian Elkhound Club. Our judge today was the Norwegian-born Knut-Sigurd Wilberg ("Kanix") whose consistent judging awarded three daughters of our SBIS American Grand/Canadian/Bermudian Ch. Kamgaard Kase In Point ("Kasey"). Pictured above finishing her title as Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for a 4 point major was Kamgaard Knobody Does It Better at Elvemel CGC ("Adele"), owned by Lisa and Ray Peterson. Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed was Adele's litter sister, Ch. Kamgaard Kryptic Kharacter OA OAJ NF ("Rune") owned by Cheryl Cramer and shown by Sue Ratz. Coming in at Reserve Winners Bitch was our sole entry, teenager and half-sister Kamgaard Kleared For Takeoff ("Polo"). Mr. Wilberg commented after the judging on the absolute correct type and consistency of these girls -- music to our ears!
Sunday saw Ch. Kamgaard Kut To The Point ("Gibbs") pictured above winning another award in the AKC's new Owner-Handler series, this time a 4th in the Hound Group at the Badger Kennel Club in Wisconsin under judge John Cole with owner Claudia Holst by his side.
Meanwhile back in the East, the agility queen Ch. MACH Kamgaard Kovered In Grey MXS MJS OF ("Grey") earned her 9th QQ toward her MACH2 title for owner-handler Cheryl Cramer:

April 29th
Not long home from the UK and feeling quite joyous about Kobi's new title, it was another case of God giving with one hand and taking with the other as we learned of the passing of Kobi's dam, SBIS/UBIS American/Canadian Ch. Kamgaard Kapri at Graafin ("Bunny") earlier this month. While not totally unexpected at the great age of one month shy of 17 (!), it nonetheless is a great loss to ourselves and owner Ginger Leeuwenburg.
May 13, 2000 - April 10, 2017
Rest in peace, Bunny...
To Ginger we send our sympathy and thanks for loving her all these years.

April 22nd
Sometimes when you least expect it, things just come together. Such was the case when Maggie was in the United Kingdom on business, she surprised all by stopping unannounced at the Norwegian Elkhound Club of Great Britain's Championship Show. A better day we could not have planned as "Kobi" delighted us all by winning the Dog Challenge Certificate under judge Anne MacDonald ("Mabrooka") with co-owner Stuart at the other end of the lead. With this win, "Kobi" completed the requirements for his UK Championship -- we believe only the fourth American-bred dog ever to do so!
SBIS American Grand/Canadian/UK Ch. Kamgaard Kut Above
thanking judge MacDonald for his new title!
We could not be more indebted to the Horner/McHugh family for their belief in and devotion to Kobi. They have given him love, affection, opportunities and wonderful care -- we couldn't ask for more.
THANK YOU!!!
Winning the Reserve Dog Challenge Certificate to Kobi was young Grasilva Little Rock avec Gilkaro ("Flint") by Ch. Horizon Rock Solid ex Ch. Kamgaard Kiamesha ("Siri"). Individuals from Flint's litter did very well and enabled Siri to win the Brood Bitch class, pictured below
Love the consistency of these babies!
Celebrations ensued at the local pub afterward! :-)

April 15th - 16th

March 5th - 6th
March came roaring in like a lion and so did a few of our agility competitors this past week end...
Kamgaard Katch The Wave RE MXP MJP ("Rogue") pictured above (looking quite smug with his ribbons, we might add!) scored his 9th QQ with the following performances:
STD: https://vimeo.com/207126119
JWW: https://vimeo.com/207124683
We can see so much improvement here in overall teamwork -- nice going, Christine Tilburg!
Meanwhile in New Jersey, Rogue's baby sister "Rune" (now Ch. Kamgaard Kryptic Kharacter OA OAJ NF) ripped up the courses not only earning her Open Standard title on Saturday but her Open Jumpers title on Sunday at the Delaware County Kennel Club trials under judges Don Wittke and Kristine Schmidt with scores of 100 and 1st places on both!;
https://youtu.be/1jRRToCKynM
At the same venue, Ch. MACH Kamgaard Kovered In Grey MXS MJS OF ("Grey") put in a lovely qualifying Jumpers run:
https://youtu.be/2TZS8I00NGg
Thanks, Cheryl Cramer for all your efforts with these two!
While Rogue and Rune were perfecting their agility performances, their half sister Kamgaard Kall Me Inkredible RN ("Violet") truly had an inkredible day at the Greater Milwaukee Norwegian Elkhound Association specialty show on Saturday scoring Winners Bitch for her second major under Mrs. Neena Van Camp ("Blujor"). Winners Dog and Best of Winners there went to Sangrud Thorbjorn Boden ("Bodie") who also brought home his second major. He is sired by Ch. Sangrud Kamgaard Kolbjorn ("Teddy")... an uncle to our new puppies.
CONGRATULATIONS to Toni Sibrel, Pete Bojan, Kristi Wehking, Karen Elvin and Brad and Cindy Wagner!!!

Great news from several oceans away as well as "across the pond" today!
After a little time off, "Seth" (American/Australian Ch. Kamgaard Kutting Edge) has returned to the ring with a zing! Best of Breed in good competition today at the big Canberra Royal show "down under." Judge was Mr. Donovan Thompson (USA). Now approaching maturity, he is looking better than ever!
Heartwarming news received later in the day from the Norwegian Elkhound Club of Great Britain's annual Contest of Champions. The mystery judge was noneother than Robert Greaves ("Whittimere") and competitions for various awards are held on a "knock out" basis.
In the competition, Puppy of the Year title went to Grasilva Little Rock av Gilkaro ("Flint") and Best Puppy Bitch to his litter sister, Grasilva Silver Vine ("Tia"). They are sired by our Ch. Horizon Rock Solid out of Ch. Kamgaard Kiamesha.
Best in Dog the Stud Book Challenge also went to "Flint."
In the awarding of the annual points trophies at the Annual General Meeting, Flint took home the Wythall Trophy for top points winning male as well as Top Male Puppy. The Top Female Puppy award went to Grasilva Cruggleton with Laakso, a daughter of our SBIS American Grand/Canadian Ch. Kamgaard Kut Above who collected the Top Veteran award. To top it all off, Top Brood Bitch went to Ch. Kamgaard Kiamesha.
Our thanks go to all the breeders, owners and handlers for representing us so well... we are thrilled!!!

A RED LETTER DAY!!!
After months of planning, testing, many trips and a lot of prayer, we are happy to announce the arrival of two special puppies. One male and one female were born today to SBIS/UBIS American/Canadian Ch. Kamgaard Klearly Proud ("Kubota") and SBIS Ch. Kamgaard Kekekabic ("Kekka"). Special in that these youngsters are the result of using almost 20 year old frozen semen in a double surgical implant. Our profound thanks go to the staff at the Rondout Valley Veterinary Associates in New York and Dr. Mary Stankovics and Debbie Leach at Straws To Paws in New Jersey for helping us to accomplish this effort. We hope that these puppies will be instrumental in bringing old and valued bloodlines and individuals to the fore for us to work with... "back to the future!"

Thoughts turned across the pond today to the Manchester Dog Show Society in England where there was a good entry at the first Championship show of the year for Elkhounds. The judge was popular Norwegian Espen Engh who judged the American National specialty last year.
Winning the Reserve Dog Challenge Certificate was SBIS American Grand/Canadian Ch. Kamgaard Kut Above ("Kobi") with co-owner/handler Stuart Horner at his side. The Challenge Certificate in bitches and Best of Breed was bestowed upon Grasilva Silver Vine, co-bred, handled and owned by Bryony Gray. "Tia" is a daughter of our Ch. Horizon Rock Solid ex Ch.
