CH. KAMGAARD HIGHLAND KARMANN GHIA
"Karmann" was co-bred and co-owned with Andrea Schokker of Highland Elkhounds. A singleton puppy, she had all the benefits of a loving dog mom as well as Andrea's son Aidan to get her started in life.
She is a lovely silver package with movement to die for, although sometimes her headstrong nature gets the better of her in the ring. Nonetheless, she has been a winner from the start, attending primarily Elkhound specialties. "Karmann" was WB at the Greater Milwaukee Norwegian Elkhound Association from the Puppy class and months later was found winning Best Junior in Sweepstakes at the NEAA National Specialty under Canadian breeder Lynda Tarnowski ("Wrathwood") as well as Reserve Winners Bitch to her half-sister under Norwegian hunter/breeder/judge Bjorn Bjerketvedt. Shortly after, she was Reserve Winners Bitch at the Garden State Norwegian Elkhound Club Specialty to another half sister and a month later, Winners Bitch and Best of Winners at the Norwegian Elkhound Association of Minnesota Specialty under breeder-judge Dr. Robert Indeglia ("Tekdal").
"Karmann's" finishing points came in the midwest with Andrea handling her to several wins over the summer of 2009 and she finished her championship in style with a major Best of Breed win over several Champions at the Marshfield Area Kennel Club in August under judge Karen Dumke ("Nonsuch").
"Karmann" is now co-owned with Steve and Cindi Chester of Clarksville, TN and we look forward to working with them!
