"Murphy's" striking resemblance to his influential sire, Kingfish garnered him his name and the mannerisms between the two were uncannily alike!  Not widely used at stud, his offspring nonetheless have been outstanding and we have always felt that his biggest downfall (through no fault of his own) was having been born at about the same time as our Wild Pride.  He had a number of great American wins, starting with Best of Winners at the Greater Cleveland Norwegian Elkhound Club Specialty in 1994 under the late William Houpt and also Best of Winners at the Garden State Norwegian Elkhound Club Specialty under the late breeder-judge Bob Wunderlin ("Dom's").  He had several Group placings and supported entry BOB's in the U.S. and multiple group placings in Bermuda as well.
